Dear Prospective Homebuyer:
Thank you for your interest in the First-Time Homebuyer Program! You are invited to our next Pre-Purchase Home Buyers Workshop.
In the workshop you will learn about goal setting, financial fitness, creditworthiness, working with a lender, what an affordable mortgage is, working with a realtor, the home inspection, responsibilities of being a successful homeowner, and more!
THIS INFORMATIVE WORKSHOP IS A REQUIREMENT FOR THOSE SEEKING ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE CITY OF ELMIRA’S FIRST-TIME HOME BUYER PROGRAM.
February 22, 2024, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
(Attendance for the entire workshop is required to receive a certificate of completion.)
We welcome a $10 donation per household to help cover the cost of materials for the training.
Services are not denied if an applicant is unable to pay.
We look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goal of homeownership. When you call, we can review the income guidelines and criteria of the program to see if it fits your situation. Please note: the down-payment assistance grant is only for purchase in the City of Elmira – those applying for the grant will have a guaranteed spot in the class, all others are welcome if space is available.

The workshop will be held at Catholic Charities, 215 E. Church Street, Suite 102, Elmira. The Steele Memorial Library has generously offered their back parking lot to participants for parking on workshop days. You may enter the Catholic Charities building via our back parking lot door.
