Hunger Action Month: Hope on Every Table

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to come together and raise awareness about food insecurity in our communities. Every meal shared, every donation made, and every act of kindness helps ensure that families facing hunger have access to the nourishment they need.

This month, we’re celebrating the power of community and the hope that is created when neighbors help neighbors. Together, we can make sure hope has a place at every table.

Join us in taking action and creating brighter futures, one meal at a time.

Urge your Senators to pass legislation that supports families and farmers, and restores SNAP here!

Volunteer Opp July 2026 Enews

Volunteering with Catholic Charities is an opportunity to share hope and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a Food Pantry Volunteer at the Samaritan Center, you’ll help provide food and support to neighbors in need. As a Host at the Elmira Community Kitchen, you’ll welcome guests and help create a warm, inviting environment during meal service.

Every act of kindness helps strengthen our community, foster dignity, and remind people they are valued, cared for, and not alone.

To sign up to become a volunteer, please visit our VolunteerHub portal. If you are interested in volunteering at the Elmira Community Kitchen, please contact Kathy Dubel ([email protected]).

Together, we can help foster understanding, encourage prevention, and strengthen support for those affected. 2026 FLX Gives Save the Date

Save the Date: FLX Gives Returns November 12-13!

Mark your calendars for FLX Gives, a 24-hour online giving event taking place November 12-13. This annual day of generosity brings communities across the Finger Lakes region together to support local nonprofit organizations making a difference every day.

Catholic Charities Chemung & Schuyler is proud to participate in this year’s event. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue providing vital programs and services that support individuals and families throughout our community. Your generosity helps ensure that neighbors facing challenges have access to the resources, assistance, and hope they need.

As the event approaches, watch for more details on how you can participate, share our mission, and help us reach our fundraising goals. Together, we can make a lasting impact in Chemung and Schuyler counties.
